Graduate Teaching Assistant (must hold a Diploma/Master’s degree) for a 20-hour/week, four-year position at the Institute of Polymer Sciences

Job Duties:

  • Application of Raman spectroscopic methods for the investigation of bio-medical materials
  • Support of instruments in the field of Raman spectroscopy
  • Contribution to the setup of a surface-sensitive Raman spectrometer (TIR-Raman)
  • Fabrication, characterization and testing of nanoparticles for SERS (surface enhanced Raman Spectroscopy) on bio-medical materials
  • Assistance in the conduction of practical courses and exercises in the field of physical chemistry
  • Assistance with supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses

Your Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must hold a Diploma/Master’s degree in natural sciences (chemistry, physics) or technology with focus on materials science or bio-medicine
  • Knowledge in the field of high-resolution Raman spectroscopic of biomedical materials is required
  • Basic knowledge in the production and characterisation of nanoparticles for SERS is welcome
  • Basic knowledge in sample preparation of biological samples by ultramicrotomy is welcome
  • Experience in lab assistance
  • Confident knowledge of oral and written German and English (German level C1, English level B2)
