Graduate Project Assistant (must hold a Diploma/Master’s degree) for a 30-hour/week, four-year position at the Institute for Applied Geometry

The Institute of Applied Geometry (www.ag.jku.at ) of the Johannes Kepler University, Linz/Austria, is looking for a research assistant (PhD student, fixed-term contract for up to 4 years). The position is part of the FOR 5492 network project ”Polytope Mesh Generation and Finite Element Analysis Methods for Problems in Solid Mechanics”, led by RWTH Aachen University (Germany).

Job Duties:

  • Carrying out research work in one of the areas mentioned
  • Publication and presentation of scientific results in journals and at conferences
  • Writing a dissertation

Your Qualifications:

  • Strong background in at least one of the areas of geometric modelling and numerical analysis
  • Expertise on Computational Geometry is particularly welcome
  • A master-equivalent degree in mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field is required
  • Very good language skills in English (level B2), knowledge of German not absolutely necessary
