One vacant position for full-time scientific Senior Scientist (m/f/d) at the Chair of Physical Metallurgy and Metallic Materials in the Department Material Science probably at the earliest possible date in a permanent contract.

Requirements : Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or an equivalent degree in the sense of the desired qualification; willingness and readiness to do scientific research and teaching at university; experienced in writing scientific publications; fluent in German and English in word and writing.

Tasks : Research and teaching in the field of metallic structural materials. Establishment of optimized sample preparation strategies and multi-method characterization techniques for high-resolution correlative investigation of structure-property relations. Support in specification, purchase, installation and implementation of scientific equipment for materials characterization.

Desirable experience in the following areas :

- Hands-on Experience in the characterization of materials (e.g. focused ion beam methods, atom probe tomography transmission electron microscopy, EBSD/TKD, and correlation of methods).

- Loyalty, reliability, ability to work in a team, effective communication skills, self-organized and target-oriented way of working.
