Job profile:

In this position you will have the opportunity to carry out high level research and to specialise in a particular field. You will hold your own lectures, tutor students and participate in administration. During the first year of employment it is possible to conclude a 'qualification agreement' which is the core part of a University career position. If the terms of the qualification agreement are fullfilled it will lead to a continuous career at the University, resulting in the position of a Associate Professor and a permanent employment.  Main tasks: Research in the field of contemporary Russian and foreign language education, (especially Russian); realisation of a postdoctoral research project at habilitation level (professorial thesis); publications and lectures on an international level; acquisition of third-party funding; teaching in the BA and MA programmes at the department of Slavonic Studies as well as at the department of language teacher education (language-specific, i.e. Russian, and cross-language teacher training courses); participation in academic self-management; administrative tasks; activities related to the Austrian school and education system; Required qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field of study or teacher education programme (or equivalent qualification); doctorate with distinction in the field of Russian or Slavonic linguistics, or foreign language education with focus on Russian; (the PhD thesis must be made accessible together with the application via a link or as a pdf);  additionally, a short description of the PhD thesis of 1-2 pages needs to be submitted; relevant academic achievements beyond the PhD thesis (publications, lectures); a clear focus in at least one of the two research areas, namely "Contemporary Russian" and "Teaching of Foreign Languages, especially Russian", respectively; submission of a research concept at habilitation level (professorial thesis) of 7-10 pages in one of the two research fields "Contemporary Russian" and "Teaching of Foreign Languages, especially Russian" or for a project that combines both; Teaching experience in at least one of the two subject areas "Russian/Slavonic linguistics" and "Language Education of Russian"; submission of a teaching concept of 3-5 pages; professional experience as a postdoc at a university or in another relevant occupational field of at least several months; Willingness to participate in the projects of the two departments and the relevant research networks of the University of Innsbruck; language skills in Russian (if not L1, then at least C1) and German (if not L1, then at least C1); Academic mobility experience; experience in third-party funding (acquisition, management); high communication and team skills, independent working style and organisational skills; Desired additional qualifications: Proof of very good didactic skills (e.g. through teaching evaluations or certificates); knowledge of one of the following languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish at least at level B2
