Job profile:

Assistant Professor - Career position (40 hours/week), Department of Structural Engineering and Material Sciences, Unit of Construction Management and Tunnelling (iBT) earliest possible for 6 years; a qualification agreement can be offered.Main tasks: independent research and project management as well as acquisition of third-party funding projects in the field of BIM (structural engineering and infrastructure construction), collaboration in national and European BIM standardization; independent implementation and new conception of courses in the fields of construction management and BIM; supervision of bachelor's/master's theses as well as co-supervision of dissertations (independent supervision after habilitation); organization of relevant scientific and transfer-oriented events; support in unit administration; management of staff.Required qualifications: completed doctoral degree in civil engineering or architecture; relevant academic achievements after PhD (publications in international journals, presentations for professional audiences as well as at transfer-oriented conferences); description of a research project at habilitation level; submission of a teaching concept; experience in university teaching in the research topic; knowledge of German language (at least B2 level or willingness to acquire these in a reasonable amount of time); several months of work experience within the field of research after PhD; relevant mobility experience during or after the PhD; experience in third-party funding (acquisition, management) with partners of the construction industry; excellent knowledge in structural engineering, construction management, BIM and BIM standardization; practical experience in the application of BIM (in structural engineering and infrastructure projects) in research as well as in the planning and realization of structural-engineering and infrastructure projects; experience in organizing and actively participating in relevant scientific events; experience in national and international standardization bodies; networking with relevant research institutions and the construction industry; creative problem-solving skills for both scientific and application-related tasks; social skills; team skills
