Job profile:

University assistant fulltime career positon available in the Institute for Breath Research, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Innsbruck, available from 01.06.2022. Main tasks include the following: (i) Research, related to trace gas analysis, with a particular focus on exhaled breath volatiles; (ii) Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses; (iii) Assisting in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students; and (iv) Administration.
Required Qualification: Completed a Doctoral or PhD in a natural science (e.g. chemistry, physics, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, or biological engineering).
Other Requirements: (i) Relevant postdoctorall experience in trace gas analysis using spectrometric methods (including GC-MS, GC-TOF-MS, LC-MS, PTR-MS, IMS and GC-IMS), and in particular with regards to the analysis of breath, urine, blood, tissue and other biological samples; (ii) Experience in sample preparation techniques, to include SPME, NTE and PPE/TD; (iii) At least five years' experience in writing peer-reviewed publications (including reviews) in international journals; (iv) Experience in planning and conducting clinical and applied research projects; (v) Success in research funding applications (e.g. EU and/or national funding agencies); (vi) Job related mobility experience during or after doctorate/PhD; (vii) Experience in supervising bachelor and master research projects; (viii) Fluent or to have a high command of the German language (spoken and written); (ix) Fluent in both written and spoken English; (x) Good management and administration skills directly related to research activities; (xi) Good team and communication skills; and (xii) Excellent interpersonal skills.
