Overview:

  • Full-time, Fixed Term position until October 2024

  • Salary Level HEW 7 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Role will require an on-campus presence (Melbourne CBD or Bundoora) with hybrid ways of working

About the Role

As a senior STEM College Workforce Planning team member, you will work collaboratively with academic staff across the College and Schools to manage visiting academic and student requests. The position will support the end-to-end process, and work with academics, central HR, and Finance teams. You will be accountable for developing efficient, streamlined processes, and implementing systems and protocols to support this cohort.

You will also be an engaged and active member of the broader workforce planning team providing HR support to the College and Schools. To be successful in the role, you will be highly organised, manage expectations as well as high volume of work and take leadership where appropriate.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues within and beyond the immediate work unit, contributing to the achievement of team goals.

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement, and proven ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and systems consistently, provide advice and to drive creative solutions through to implementation within the immediate work area.

  • Proven ability to work independently, use initiative and prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in an agile and demanding environment with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.

  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, relationship building, oral and written communication skills and the proven ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex and sensitive issues.

  • A high order of analytical and problem-solving skills and the demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative and creative solutions.

  • Demonstrated high-level computer skills using Word, Excel, databases, with focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

The STEM College Office Professional staff provide exceptional and efficient support to the College. 


The Learning, Teaching and Quality teams support:  
•    Quality Enhancement
•    Learning and Teaching support

The Professional shared services Group delivers service to all four Schools across five distinct functions:
•    Student Lifecycle
•    Planning & Operations
•    Technical Services
•    Program Lifecycle & Governance
•    WIL & Engagement

Relevant digital solutions – such as Workday – are used by the five teams to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies. The Group’s end-to-end professional support ensures a consistent approach to the operational and strategic functioning of the College and adherence to University policies and procedures.  

The STEM College Office professional staff are instrumental in providing students with a transformative and enriched learning experience, and in supporting our research and engagement administration activities. Centralised in the STEM College Office, at our City and Bundoora campuses, professional staff members have opportunities to cross-skill, engage in professional development and develop their own career paths.
