About the opportunity
We are looking for an outstanding individual who is passionate about education and supporting students throughout their university journey.
As a Wellbeing Engagement Advisor, you will be responsible for providing specialised wellbeing services and case management to students at the University. You will use evidence-based, best practice strategies to deliver timely, accessible, and high-quality services.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work within a tight-knit team, reporting to the Manager, Student Wellbeing Engagement
facilitate the intake, screening, monitoring, and assessment of the wellbeing and support needs for students
develop and deliver support, and interventions with the goal of improving the student experience
provide triage and crisis intervention including liaison with internal and external service providers
proactively contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve the student experience
actively contribute to and promote a safe environment where all people are valued and respected.
About you
If you are someone who enjoys supporting others and working with youth/in the mental health field, you will thrive in this position.
Relevant and applicable tertiary qualifications, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience
an understanding of the student experience and its relationship to student service delivery
demonstrated experience in responding to individuals presenting in crisis and/or incident management
ability to facilitate engagement with students and stakeholders and delivery of programs
proven understanding of early intervention strategies
Mandarin, Hindi, Arabic, Vietnamese, Indonesian and/or Korean language skills are desirable but not a requirement for the role.

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. For a continuing position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
