The Web Developer (Web Research Ecosystem Project) works collaboratively with stakeholders across the university and within the Marketing & Research Divisions, to lead and accomplish Deakin goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests.

As a Web Developer, you will:

  • Executes WordPress-related tasks using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WP REST API.
  • Create, reviews, and optimises code to ensure adherence to web standards and cross-device functionality.
  • Stays current with development trends.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues within WordPress themes, plugins, and core files.
  • Regularly communicates with team members and stakeholders to discuss projects.
  • Creates and executes testing protocols to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Oversees the deployment of sites and integrations across various departments.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in web development, specifically the WordPress ecosystem, and HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience in the application of digital technologies in a marketing environment and digital marketing campaigns
  • Hands-on experience with web analytics and network diagnostics
