The Opportunity
Apply your advanced management and leadership capability and veterinary expertise to develop and implement a world-class program of veterinary care and training in research animal skills to achieve best practice in animal welfare and to facilitate excellence in research outcomes.
Manage a team of veterinarians, educate staff and engage broadly across the animal research landscape as Veterinary Program Manager to deliver services and provide expert advice at both strategic and operational levels in respect of animal health and wellbeing, research support and regulatory compliance. Exercise your passion to support animal wellbeing while enabling world-leading research programs with real world impact. Working within a supportive team environment, use your strengths in collaboration and innovation to develop a technical workforce and diverse research community that are highly skilled in research animal techniques and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement and care in all aspects of animal research.
With a high degree of expertise in research animal skills and a pivotal role in the support of animal research programs, this position will also be responsible for providing informed advice, recommendations and reports in support of new initiatives, complex projects, business decision-making and the achievement of strategic objectives with significant impact.
We are seeking someone with postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, education or training including holding current registration, or be eligible to register as a Veterinary Surgeon in Victoria.
