Duties include working in the hospital setting with internal medicine specialists, monitoring and treatment of hospitalised patients including emergency triage and critical care, working with equine surgeons on elective and emergency procedures and providing support and assistance to primary opinion clinicians for both emergency and non-emergency consultations.

Working as part of the clinical team you will be required to work through a 24/7 roster, which includes nights, weekends, and public holidays.

The Equine Health and Performance Centre (EHPC) is part of the School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences’ clinical teaching facility which operates on a commercial basis, offering a range of first opinion and specialist veterinary services to the general public and referring veterinarians. The EHPC also provides a clinical training environment for veterinary students working under the close supervision of experienced veterinarians, nurses and support staff. The EHPC is situated on the University’s picturesque Roseworthy Campus, approximately 9km from the township of Gawler and on the doorstep of the world-renowned Barossa Valley wine region.
