About the Role 
Swinburne’s Trades and Engineering Technologies Electrical Department is seeking a VET Electrical Teacher to join the team to meet expected further growth in 2024 and beyond.

The role of a Swinburne Vocational Education (VE) Teacher – Electrical is to share their experience and knowledge with students and encourage our students to successfully obtain their qualifications. You will work within a passionate team of trade teachers to plan deliver, assess, evaluate and ensure compliance of high-quality education and training programs. This role requires that you can customise and adapt our programs to meet our learners and clients’ needs that vary across our programs.

In this role you will be responsible for the carrying out the teaching and assessment duties for our current Electrical Training Packages UEE30830, UEE22020 and Fee-for-Service courses.

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Demonstrated ability to implement high quality innovative teaching and learning programs in a variety of learning modes, reflecting an understanding of successful approaches to Electrical teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to foster and promote an inclusive, customised and safe learning environment and provide support and advice to a diverse range of students and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in continuous improvement, and develop high quality teaching and assessment materials
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with colleagues and generates ideas for improvements which includes demonstrating high level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current practical experience (currency) in Electrical industry

Qualifications
  • Qualified ‘A’ Grade Electrician with significant experience (Essential)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Solar Accreditation or Qualification and/or Experience (Desirable)
  • Data Communications Qualifications and or Experience (Desirable)  
  • Diploma in VET / Adult Education (Desirable)
