  • Base Salary $111,966 - $126,271 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) is a flagship academic research organisation within the University of Sydney. The CTC conducts large, multicentre, national/international investigator-initiated clinical trials, participate in trials of other national and international collaborative groups and contributes its expertise to both. The research conducted by the CTC covers a broad range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiology, diabetology, nephrology, neonatal and perinatal health, and, most recently, several exciting projects investigating treatments for COVID-19. We are currently seeking an experienced vendor management officer who will work closely with our Project Manager and other stakeholders in building, from the ground up, the CTC vendor management area, which will support our trial teams through their day-to-day engagements with critical supplier networks.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop, design, and sustainably implement a comprehensive framework of procedures and processes intended to support CTC Trial teams engagement with supplier networks across the lifecycle of their projects

  • produce best practice and ethical business roadmaps through comprehensive gap analysis undertaken with stakeholders

  • upgrade CTC vendor relationship principles, managing and sustaining core relationships with existing and new business suppliers and actively engaging with multi-tiered stakeholders across internal and external operatives

  • identify and optimise effective vendor management infrastructure essential in the day-to-day support of CTC Trial Management delivery

  • present the University in a professional and personal manner, making use of exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

About you

  • hold a bachelor’s (minimum) or master’s degree (desirable, however not required) in business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • effective at managing a diverse group of key stakeholders on large or complex projects, and the ability to develop/cultivate productive relationships with industry providers and key users

  • history or experience in procurement with proven negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • proven experience in strategy; planning and implementation to achieve outcomes and demonstrated achievements in driving/managing growth, compliance, and governance in a business

  • financial management and experience in managing budgets and controlling income expenditure

  • experience working in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation (desirable, however not required).

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
