This is your opportunity to be part of the diverse, exciting and rapidly growing Curtin Medical School!

We are seeking outstanding Medical Practitioners on a 0.2FTE basis in the below mentioned fields to provide educational leadership and oversight of their specialty curriculum across all five years of the MBBS. Working with the Director of Medical Education, the Course Coordinator and Year Coordinators, you will provide expertise and ongoing review and development of curriculum objectives and content for Years 1-5 and will contribute to the teaching program in the specialty in years 4-5.

  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, Palliative Care
  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, ENT
  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, Dermatology
  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, Rural Health
  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, Adult Medicine
  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, Radiology
  • Senior Lecturer/Specialist Lead, Anaesthetic

In these roles, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Reviewing and updating existing curriculum objectives and related learning and teaching documents across the five years of the MBBS course;
  • Contributing to the development of appropriate student learning resources;
  • Conducting face-to-face and online teaching during Back to Campus weeks and during the year (where required) in Years 4 and 5;
  • Contributing to the writing and reviewing of assessments;
  • Monitoring and providing feedback on workplace-based assessments (WBA) and informing Course and Year Coordinators of cohort strengths/weaknesses with suggestions for supporting student learning;
  • Monitoring the quality, and consistent application of, teaching across Curtin Medical School clinical teaching sites, in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Deans;
  • Engaging in evidence-based scholarly activities and educational activities that advance learning, teaching, and assessment in your specialty area.
  • Participating in medical education unit committee meetings to encourage cross-specialty educational input and taking the lead on curriculum debate regarding your specialty area.

About us

Curtin Medical School comprises the disciplines of medicine, medical radiation science, pharmacy, laboratory medicine and biomedical science. It sits within the Faculty of Health Sciences, with two-affiliated research Institutes called CHIRI and ENABLE. The discipline of medicine is one of Australia’s newest medical schools graduating its first cohort of medical practitioners in 2021.
The discipline of medicine headquarters are based out of a dedicated building on the University Bentley campus with tailored clinical teaching and simulation facilities and offers the only undergraduate medical degree in Western Australia. It now enrols 120 new students each year with preferential selection of students with a rural, Indigenous Australian, or disadvantaged background.
