  • Part of UniSA’s People, Talent and Culture team based in Adelaide CBD
  • Commencing salary: $119,598 per annum plus 17% superannuation
  • Full-time, continuing position

At UniSA we believe that people are our best asset and the heart and soul of our University of Enterprise.

In an exciting era of future orientated leadership and as we introduce a new service delivery model, we are seeking to appoint a Unit Manager for UniSA’s People, Talent and Culture Unit.

You will contribute to the transformation of our service delivery model, leading significant projects and initiatives to embed and enable our newly defined service levels, and directly influence the impact and value of the business services function you will lead. We can promise you a dynamic working environment, investment in your professional growth, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference to our staff and students.

As a people team, we've coined the phrase ‘Putting People First’ to reflect our commitment to delivering people focussed solutions and outcomes, and to provide a culture in which all our people thrive. As ambassadors of the University’s core staff attributes, we are aware of the impact of everything we do on our people and how we work together.

About The Role

Working closely with, and directly reporting to, the Executive Director: People, Talent and Culture, you will be responsible for providing the operational leadership and management of the Unit, including managing financial, governance, and business services activities on behalf of the Unit. As a senior operational leader, you will support the PTC executive team to develop, implement and monitor strategic and operational plans including required asset and resource implications, Unit communications, and coordinating delivery of the Unit’s priorities and the activities People, Talent and Culture contribute to, across the University.

About You

You will be an energetic, big picture thinker who also knows the devil is in the detail. Accomplished at juggling priorities and deadlines, your calm, consistent leadership will provide reassurance across the Unit’s operations and act as a key conduit with other University Units and functions. You will be empathetic and solution oriented, and someone people naturally gravitate to for advice and guidance. You will collaborate confidently with leaders and managers across the Unit and wider University, building effective relationships which enable a business services team that is resolutely focussed on service excellence and continuous improvement. You will care about people and their potential, directly contributing to the continued professional development of the People, Talent and Culture team.

To be successful in the position you will be able to demonstrate:

  • strategic planning experience incorporating workforce planning, budget preparation and monitoring and resource allocations, and effective tracking and reporting against agreed parameters
  • experience initiating, resourcing and maintaining oversight of project management, including tracking of and reporting against key milestones
  • proven experience with contract management, procurement of services, financial operational management and managing suppliers’ performance against agreed service levels and outcomes
  • commitment to, and successful experience delivering quality information and records management systems and identifying and implementing continuous business improvement processes through effective change management approaches
  • relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally at postgraduate level, in a relevant discipline such as human resources or business
