About the Faculty of Arts - School of Historical and Philosophical Studies

The School of Historical and Philosophical Studies was formed in 2011 comprising the programs of History, History and Philosophy of Science, Philosophy, Classics and Archaeology, and the Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation and The Program in Jewish Culture and Society.

The School further explores multi-disciplinary perspectives on ancient Graeco-Roman, Aegean and Near Eastern civilisations including ancient languages. Our Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation investigates new areas and innovative practices in instrumentation and analysis, policy and programs in the area of the preservation of cultural materials

About the position

The School seeks to appoint a fixed term Teaching Associate – Periodic Tutor with the capacity to teach in the area of Philosophy. The successful applicant will be a committed and engaging educator.

In this position, your primary responsibility will be to deliver your assigned tutorials within Philosophy’s tutorial program and you will report to the Discipline Chair.  The Faculty’s tutorial programs provide opportunities for students to practice their skills of analysis, argument and critique, and to enhance their communication skills.

Teaching Associates new to the Faculty will be required to complete all relevant training (Foundations, LMS, Themis etc.). 

Due to Australian immigration regulations, we prefer applicants with Australian work rights.
