  • Commencement Salary: $67,739 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role  


The Travel Administrator is responsible for coordinating domestic and international travel and associated activity for all staff, students and visitors travelling on behalf of the University.

The Finance Unit is the central business unit which provides financial services to the University and is part of the Resources Portfolio led by the Chief Operating Officer. The Unit is committed to implementing effective financial and commercial practices to support the University’s needs. Achieving this will require the transformation of the finance function to be business partners to support the University to thrive in a competitive and rapidly evolving global environment.


Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all approved domestic and international travel arrangements for staff, students and visitors within the University 
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and the University’s travel guidelines and procedures 
  • Work independently to provide advice to key stakeholders in relation to the University’s travel guidelines, and procedures  
  • Act as the first point of contact for staff, students and visitors who are travelling and make appropriate decisions to assist in the resolution of issues that arise
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and coordinate the administration process of all aspects of travel 
  • Contribute to an ongoing team culture of customer service, and to the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives pertaining to travel and associated activity in the University


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Post-secondary qualifications in a relevant discipline and demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience 
  • Demonstrated experience working in a travel agency with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a retail and/or corporate environment with complex international itineraries 
  • Demonstrated high level organisation and time management skills together with demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative in managing multiple priorities, often with competing deadlines 
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying policy and procedures in a complex environment 
  • High level written and verbal communication skills including preparation of written materials, and experience in the delivery of quality customer service
