Overview
ECU is seeking fill the position of Traffic Officer within the Security and Traffic Services area to provide excellent services to the ECU community. This part time 0.4FTE role involves contributing to the effective and efficient management of the traffic services and operations on each campus by supporting and maintaining the parking and infringement processes through timely and accurate application of the University’s Lands and Traffic By-Laws, accurate record keeping, with a focus on customer service.

The Traffic Officer role has responsibility for applying the University’s Lands and Traffic By-Laws on Campus, providing advice and direction to staff, students and visitors on parking related matters and providing administrative support as required.

The role will periodically require working in addition to the average 30hrs per fortnight, to assist students and staff during peak times, most notably during the 6 week beginning of semester periods. Additional hours will also be expected to cover other times such as leave within the Security & Traffic team.  

This role has a direct impact on the health, wellbeing, security, safety, and reputation of the ECU community. The successful applicant is required to act as an Authorised Officer under the Edith Cowan University Act and associated By-laws.

Key Criteria
We’re looking for experienced people who can demonstrate the following:

  • Customer Focus.
  • Interpersonal Skills.
  • Proficient use of technology; hand-held devices, computer systems and software.

In addition, the successful candidates will:

  • Posses and maintain a valid Western Australian driver’s licence as regular travel is required between the metro campuses.
  • Have the ability to flex-up to full-time (or close to full-time hours) during the first six weeks of each main teaching period as per the University General academic calendar.
  • Successfully pass a full medical.

These part-time, ongoing positions attract remuneration of $61,116 to $67,865 PRO-RATA 0.4FTE (HEW 3) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
