Who are we looking for?

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Technology Support Officer (Client Computing, Student Environment) to join Digital Business Solution, Administrative Division.

The Technology Support Officer will work in a team environment to assist in providing efficient support services related to the client computing and learning environment service streams across the broader University community. Your good organisational, time management, team and communication skills will be an asset in this environment.

About the Administrative Division

Administrative Division supports the governance and operations of the University, including planning and quality, facilities and services for students and staff. The Administrative Division is led by the Vice-President (Administration) and University Registrar.

About Digital Business Solutions

Digital Business Solutions (DBS) provides support for staff and students across a range of information and technology services. DBS uses technology to create value for our students and customers through the portfolios of Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Professional Services.

DBS embraces digital transformation as being fundamental to our service in supporting QUT’s aspirations outlined in Blueprint 6.

Digital Business Solutions is responsible for a wide range of services in delivering and supporting digital solutions for QUT. DBS comprises seven business units with dynamic knowledge and expertise that work collectively with the University’s Faculties, Institutes and Divisions to provide quality Digital Solutions and Services in support of both QUT’s Strategic Objectives and in core operations for learning and teaching, research and innovation and professional services.

What you need to succeed

Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.

You will demonstrate:

  • Completion of a relevant Bachelor’s degree in an IT or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience, and demonstrated detailed knowledge of complex network and enterprise systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with demonstrated experience in communicating complex technology issues clearly and confidently at all levels within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated high level team member and customer service skills with the proven ability to problem solve and respond to changing client needs.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills, including time management and the ability to contribute effectively within a large complex organisation with a fast-paced changing service environment.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP); IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations; Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) and/or AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant knowledge of current industry trends and demonstrated active participation in remaining up to date with current and emerging applicable computing and learning technologies.
