• Hourly rate: From $50.69 to $54.63 per hour (HEW Level 4) plus 11% superannuation
• Casual roles. Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.

THE ROLE

Macquarie University Service Connect IT (SC IT) embraces the university mission to be bold, distinctive, progressive and transformational. Within Service Connect IT, the Audio-Visual (AV) team is involved in the design, installation, maintenance and support of university wide audio-visual solutions. The Technology Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Providing AV and desktop related support services, including setting up and/or operating complex AV equipment across the University and remote locations, ongoing maintenance of AV facilities and classroom equipment, and routine remote monitoring of systems.
  • Assisting on-site installation, configuration, upgrade and testing of new AV and desktop equipment.
  • Maintaining relevant ITSM logs, inventories and documentation, as well as update and respond to client tickets, in line with ITIL processes and procedures.
  • Providing AV and IT support for projects, events and functions.
  • Assist in the management of AV and computer refresh and relocation projects.

  • Relevant technical experience and/or equivalent education/training.
  • High level of computer literacy with up-to-date knowledge of changes in software and hardware technologies.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, supporting a range of digital AV systems.
  • Experience in supporting Mac OS, Microsoft Windows, Office, Active Directory and Cloud Services, and Crestron software and hardware technologies.
  • Demonstrated track record in delivering quality customer service.
