Overview
The School of Engineering offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a broad range of engineering disciplines whilst maintaining a strong research profile. In alignment with the University’s vision to be recognised for our world ready graduates and leading-edge research, the School is continually expanding its teaching and research facilities. With four buildings across the Joondalup campus, the School has many well-equipped engineering laboratories and workshops to support the teaching and research programs. These laboratories and workshops are supported and maintained by a multidisciplinary team of technical support engineers who are intimately involved with development programs and operational activities in these environment. The technical support team currently have a vacancy for a Technical Support Engineer from a mechanical background.

The position plays an important role in the provision of technical support for engineering teaching and research programs. It also has a strong focus on Occupational Safety and Health requirements and compliance, taking a strategic role in the management of risk.

Key Criteria
The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor degree in engineering;
  • Demonstrated experience in design, construction and testing of complex systems;
  • Proven ability to produce detailed designs from general specifications;
  • Good knowledge of work health and safety matters as applicable to the operation of engineering laboratories and workshops;
  • Ability to supervise workshop and laboratories, and training others in technical skills and safe work practices.
