Overview
The School of Engineering offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a broad range of engineering disciplines whilst maintaining a strong research profile. In alignment with the University’s vision to be recognised for our world ready graduates and leading-edge research, the School is continually expanding its teaching and research facilities. With three buildings across the Joondalup campus the new Engineering Annex is the most recent addition to the School, built to accommodate specialist research labs and is fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment.

We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide specialist technical support to our teaching and research programs and facilities.

The position plays a critical role in the provision of expert engineering research support, as well as the design, construction and testing of complex systems related to engineering. It has a strong focus on Occupational Safety and Health requirements and compliance taking a strategic role in the management of risk.

Key Criteria
The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated experience in design, construction and testing of complex systems related to chemical engineering;
  • Experience in producing detailed designs from general specifications;
  • Extensive knowledge required for current laboratory operational procedures and WSH regulations and development/implementation of procedure and safety sheets for use in lab and during inductions;
  • Experience of supervising a workshop or similar, and/or training others in technical skills and safe work practices.

This ongoing position attracts remuneration of $82,658 to $89,180 pa (HEW 6) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
