The Opportunity
The Drug Discovery Biology (DDB) research Theme within the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) is currently seeking a Technical Officer to join the team.
As the successful candidate, you will provide a variety of professional and high-quality technical services and assistance to our researchers, staff and students in the Heart Failure Pharmacology Laboratory. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of animal colonies and animal monitoring, supervising the animal laboratory and a variety of data analysis.
You will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, and demonstrated experience in managing and monitoring animal welfare, ability to manage rodent colonies including transgenic and knockout lines, and a basic understanding of compliance regulation, including PC2, OGTR and the Australian Code for the care and use of animals.
