About the College of Medicine and Public Health

About the Role
Under general supervision, the position will be responsible for assisting and supporting the technical team in a range of advanced technical functions within the Simulated Learning Environment. The position provides an efficient service to primarily support the Medicine teaching program by ensuring student workshops are prepared and set up to enhance the learning experience of the students.
Furthermore, the Technical Officer will be responsible for:
Providing technical advice and assistance during practical classes including demonstration of equipment, procedures and techniques as required.
Ensuring all equipment is appropriately cleaned, checked, stored, and maintained.
Assisting in maintaining a range of complex equipment in good working order including its assembly, testing, and repairing.
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
Demonstrated experience in working within a health care simulation / workshop setting and the preparation / setting up of associated education sessions.
Current knowledge of Work Health Safety (WHS) Legislation, including risk management.
Well-developed organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and use initiative with general supervision.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
