Edith Cowan University’s School of Education is Western Australia’s largest provider of Initial Teacher Education programs. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design and Technology professional to become part of an interdisciplinary team that provides technical support to our teaching and research programs.

The position supports design-led student projects through to completion, requiring a flexible approach and the ability to problem-solve and innovate, based in state-of-the-art facilities supporting design and technology. You will use your sound practical knowledge and experience of regularly working with wood and metal technologies and advanced manufacturing, including CAD/CAM and digital and electronic technologies. The role includes the requirement of knowledge of and maintenance of the equipment within the area, the ordering of supplies and preparation of teaching materials. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Design and Technology professional and will have experience in a secondary school setting. Working with Academic Staff, students (research students and pre-service teachers), and others, who have a variety of knowledge and understanding of the discipline area, your excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will be demonstrating and supporting students in Standard Operating Procedures on equipment within the Design and Technology studios.

While primarily located at Mt Lawley for the near future, the role requires a willingness to help colleagues and support technical staff in other education disciplines when needed across the metropolitan campuses.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $73,257 to $81,404 pa (HEW 5) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
