  • Base Salary, $111,966 - $126,271 p.a (HEO8) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is currently seeking a Technical Manager (Laboratory Animal Services) to develop the project organisation structure, the project charter, workforce plans, and project processes and resources required to support implementation in the implementation of the LAS facility in the new Sydney Biomedical Accelerator.

The successful candidate will be required to develop communications, promote the project across the affected work areas or the University, and conduct information sessions or training as required across the work areas affected by the project to ensure that stakeholders are appropriately informed.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • develop and embeds project governance and reporting framework to monitor implementation, progress and delivery of the project

  • manage project stakeholders and collaborates with project teams to ensure that project deliverables and milestones are achieved

  • provide sound advice and recommendations for the conceptualization, analysis and dissemination of quantitative and qualitative findings

  • manage the establishment and communication of the project management methodology, including project processes, document and reporting templates and planning tools

  • perform work activities relevant to the role’s key accountabilities as approved by the manager.

About you:

  • a postgraduate qualification in Project Management, or tertiary qualification in Animal Research (or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience)

  • previous experience working in the higher education/tertiary sector

  • experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects

  • experience project managing multiple work streams, or leading large complex projects and ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands

  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
