  • Salary range: Level 4, $67,294 - $71,483 p.a. pro rata plus 17% superannuation

About the team

This position sits with the team that underpins training and learning across the broad Field of Education of “Biomedical Sciences” and may include disciplines of infection and immunity, pathology, pharmacology, pharmacy, biochemistry and diagnostic pathology including the curation of associated resources.

About the opportunity

You will be responsible for providing a high level of laboratory technical support to senior technical staff with responsibility for the preparation, maintenance and cleaning of the laboratory teaching spaces as well as the routine functioning, maintenance and reporting of the sterilisation/decontamination areas that service research facilities.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Year 12 or equivalent competency
  • Considerable relevant experience at an appropriate level
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in a range of computing skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and online/internet based systems
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team

This position will require you to hold a current C class manual driver’s licence as well as the ability to fit the physical requirements of the position. Some after-hours work may be required.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will possess safe work practices in relation to laboratory. A diploma in laboratory technology or equivalent with demonstrated experience in a variety of laboratories, including PC2 facilities and working with chemicals is desirable.
