About the Role
These positions are responsible for the operational aspects of the Clinical Placement Unit (CPU) and lead a team of Placement Officers. The Team Leader is the Academic Units’ (CHS and ALH) key reference point for clinical placement administration and is a conduit between the Academic Units and Central Units, also being a key external stakeholder reference point. The position is responsible for ensuring the correct and consistent interpretation and application of the University’s academic administration policies and procedures in relation to clinical placement within the Academic Units.

Core Responsibilities
- Manage the operational aspects of the CPU in accordance with all internal and external requirements
- Provide leadership, mentoring and management to the team of Placement Officers, including staff induction, performance management and professional development
- Develop and maintain effective relationships and consult extensively and regularly with key internal stakeholders
- Act as the Academic Unit’s expert in managing placement administration systems
- Develop, maintain and improve team standard operating procedures and processes
Essential Skills and Experience
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
- Previous experience working in a senior administrative position in a complex service environment, including managing and developing a team
- Experience building and maintaining respectful and successful business relationships with a range of stakeholders
- High level verbal, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including experience in liaising and negotiating with people at all levels
- Solid writing skills appropriate to prepare briefings and/or reports based on self-initiated or directed research, investigation and analysis
