Lead, guide, mentor and develop the Student Success team at Curtin University!

We are currently seeking a passionate and strong team leader to help make a difference and join the Student Success team as the Team Leader, Career Development.

Student Success contributes to the overall success of Curtin students, supporting students in their transition to graduate employment and/or further study. They develop strategic partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver appropriate services and programs, providing consultation and advice to assist and improve the skills and capacity of university staff to respond to students’ career development learning needs.

The Team Leader, Career Development, will successfully provide leadership to the Careers Team and is a key member of the Student Success leadership group. The role works in partnership with faculty stakeholders and manages the team to provide consultancy on career development, oversight of embedding of career development learning in curriculum, career education programs and individual support to students.


In this role you will:
  • Ensure the effective operation of the Career team by providing leadership and guidance, monitor processes to maximise strong and positive relationships with all stakeholders, and ensuring effective and regular reporting to the Deputy Director, Student Success.
  • Liaise with Student Success Leadership Group and work closely with other areas within the portfolio, including other team leaders, to ensure alignment of activities with broader Student Success plans and priorities.
  • Inform whole of university strategies and work closely with academics and/or faculty to deliver career development learning in curriculum.
  • Participate on working parties and represent the Deputy Director on committees and in meetings, internally and externally, as required.
  • Travel interstate and/or overseas when required.
  • Have flexible availability to work outside of normal work hours where needed.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
 
  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Eligibility for, or ability to work towards CICA professional registration as it relates to the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners
  • Experience in providing careers & employment related services ideally from within the TAFE or University sector or alternatively experience within other careers services, HR or Recruitment (desirable).
  

As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
