About the Role:

As a WMEP teacher you will support students to: become active participants in the community; develop language, literacy, numeracy, IT and digital literacy skills, explore suitable future options such as employment, further study or community participation. 

WMEP courses are delivered across our campuses and teachers generally work across campuses.  We deliver predominantly day classes but we have some evening classes also. As a teacher at Victoria University Polytechnic, you will have access to a range of benefits and services , provided by the University.

This is a continuing part time position at 0.8 (30.4 hours per week) that will require the flexibility to work across all our delivery sites and day and/or evening sessions. The full-time equivalent salary range is from $83,505 pro rata per annum to $105,855 pro rata per annum and is dependent on experience and qualifications. Conditions of employment will be covered by Victoria University's Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2019.

About You:

You must be passionate and keen to support our students in discovering pathway options and preparing them for the future whether it be in employment, further education and/or an active member of the community. Your great communication skills will be a key asset for your teaching. 

The successful candidate must:

  • Hold TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or TAE40110 with required upskill units TAEASS502 and TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A. 
  • Hold an undergraduate and/or post graduate qualification in the education field (with a relevant undergraduate qualification).
  • TESOL qualification (that included a minimum of 22 days/60 hours supervised TESOL teaching practicum). 

You must hold a valid E Class (employee) Working with Children Check or current VIT registration to be able to undertake this role.
