The Tali Sklan Scholarship has been established to provide support for commencing students who are experiencing difficult personal circumstances. Preference will be given to women and students from a refugee background.

My future seemed uncertain, with no hope of ever going on to higher education before this scholarship. It has changed my life. I'm now able to envision and work towards a better life for me and my family. I've been able to grow my skills from professional development activities such as Engineers without Borders, and am now working towards my goal to use engineering to give back to the less privileged communities.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Commencing student enrolled or intending to enrol in an undergraduate degree at a Monash campus in Australia.
- A recent Refugee or Asylum Seeker .
Benefits
- $3000 per annum (48 credit points of study) for the duration of your degree.

- Three scholarship are available.
Selection criteria
- Awarded based on need.
- Preference will be given to women and students from a refugee background.
To retain this scholarship:
- You must maintain a Weighted Average Mark of 50 each semester.
How to apply
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) through VTAC between Monday 31 July (9am) and Friday 6 October (5pm) to be automatically considered.
- This scholarship cannot be deferred.
