This position is at VU English (VUE), Victoria University's English language centre. VUE delivers a range of English language programs  (EAP, General English, Study Tours) to international students that are designed to help improve their language and academic skills so they can transition into a VU university course. All courses run from the City Tower campus.

About the Role:

As Sessional Teacher within VUE for General English and English for Academic Purposes, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-quality education to students from a range of linguistic backgrounds
• Delivering onsite with the possibility of remote delivery if the centre requires it
• Contribute to the development of learning and assessment resources
• Monitor, evaluate and assess student English language progression and successful course completion.

Your weekly hours will range from 8 to 20 hours depending on centre needs. VUE operates on two daily schedules: and early shift (9-11am/1-3pm) and a late shift (11-1pm/3-5pm). The Sessional hourly rates and conditions of employment will apply as per the Victoria University Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2019. The hourly rate is $83.56 per teaching hour (inclusive of 25% sessional loading).

About You:

You Must Have (Key Selection Criteria):

• A Bachelor’s Degree
• An approved TESOL qualification (CELTA/ Graduate Diploma or Master in Education: TESOL)  
• Demonstrated knowledge/experience of teaching EAP and/or General English.
• A flexible approach to teaching that utilises effective teaching methodologies
• A current Working with Children Check or VIT registration
