About Us:

Victoria University (VU) Polytechnic is the vocational education (TAFE) division of Victoria University which offers job ready qualifications, upskilling and reskilling for existing workers, pathways to further studies, workforce development and exposure to real-life work skills. 

The Western Melbourne English Program (WMEP) is within VU Polytechnic and offers foundation courses for students from non-English speaking and English speaking backgrounds. Our English language and general education certificates are designed to improve your skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening and numeracy. Skill development in each program also covers digital literacy.

As a Sessional Teacher at Victoria University Polytechnic, you will have access to a range of benefits and services .

About the Role(s):

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality education to students from a range of linguistic backgrounds
  • Contributing to the development of learning and assessment resources
  • Monitoring, evaluating and assessing student English language progression and successful course completion.

The Sessional hourly rates and conditions of employment will apply as per the Victoria University Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2019

  •  $83.56 per teaching hour (inclusive of 25% sessional loading)

You Must Have:

  • An approved TESOL qualification (Graduate Diploma or Master in Education: TESOL)  
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience of teaching in English as an Additional Language programs.
  • A current Working with Children Check or VIT registration
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116); or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) with required upskill units: TAEASS502 or TAEASS502A OR TAEASS502B- Design and Develop Assessment Tools TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A-Address Adult LLN Skills Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
