Overview
The Strategy and Performance Unit – located within Strategic and Governance Services – is responsible for advising on the strategic positioning of the University, supporting planning at all levels, monitoring and reporting on performance, and making submissions to government agencies, international ranking organisations and other bodies. As part of its performance monitoring and reporting function, the Unit manages all key student surveys.

Reporting to the Surveys Manager and working closely with other members of the surveys team, the Surveys Coordinator supports various core and non-core survey projects and related activities. The aim is to support the efficient and effective collection and reporting of performance data associated with University courses, units and services.

Key Criteria

  • Strong data skills – especially with quantitative and qualitative survey data – and the ability to work with and carefully manipulate large and complex data sets.
  • Intermediate excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookups), and ideally some experience with tools such as SPSS, Cognos, Tableau and survey tools such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Blue, Evaluation Kit.
  • Basic statistical knowledge and a grasp of measurement issues in survey research.
  • Strong written and general communication skills, not only for dealing with academic and professional staff, as well as students, but also in terms of questionnaire design, and the marketing and promotion of surveys.
  • An understanding of the Higher Education environment, especially in terms of Learning and Teaching administration.
  • An understanding of the potential sensitivity of data.
  • A positive and flexible attitude to help the surveys team with a range of tasks as required.

Previous experience of work in university administration would be highly regarded.

Context
This position is part-time fixed term for approximately 6 months, to help provide cover while the incumbent Surveys Coordinator is on secondment.

Benefits & Remuneration
This part time, fixed term position attracts a pro-rata remuneration of $85,551 to $92,301 plus 17.5% University superannuation contribution.
