  • Salary from $84,539 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role 

We have an exciting opportunity for two Support Librarian’s to join the Library Services team. You will provide support for teaching, learning, research and client services activities, together with technical expertise in information discovery and resource use.
  
About UniSA Library 

The University of South Australia Library supports the University’s teaching, learning and research mission through the provision of relevant information resources and associated services. The Library also coordinates copyright for the University. There are four campus libraries located at City East, City West, Magill and Mawson Lakes and an off-campus Library Service that supports regional engagement at Whyalla and Mt Gambier. Information technology and information resource management services are managed from the Mawson Lakes campus.

The Library operates in an environment of increasing availability of digital information in support of the University’s Digital Learning Strategy. As such, it has accelerated its commitment to acquire the vast majority of resources in digital format which are accessible and discoverable via an established next generation Library Management System. The Library has a growing research collection with over 700,000 ebooks and online journals available anytime, anywhere, on any device. The Library maintains a targeted, high quality print collection and is the custodian of several valuable special collections including the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Library.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate and recommend digital literacy resources for both face to face and online delivery
  • Provide expert assistance to clients with complex information and resource discovery needs and strategies which showcase their research outputs
  • Establish effective service desk rosters and work plans that support quality and timely service delivery 
  • Support the Library Services team in the day-to-day operations of a campus library

Essential Skills and Experience 
  • Knowledge of emergent technologies and an ability to assess and apply them in a Library environment
  • An extensive knowledge of information sources in all formats and a proven ability in searching databases and other web-based products and services
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work successfully with people at all levels within and outside of the University, and the ability to lead, supervise staff and participate in teams
  • Demonstrated capacity for communicating and assisting a diversity of clients with a commitment to customer service
  • Experience in the preparation and delivery of Digital Literacy training programs
