About the Role
The Studio Manager of Video and Media (VM) will lead the team producing high-quality content by managing production studios, post-production suites, and industry-level equipment. Collaborating with university staff, the Studio Manager will support service excellence with awareness of strategic technical advancements, supporting the Senior Manager in boosting media awareness and production across the University. This new role offers opportunities to lead and grow infrastructure and teams, manage studios, oversee post-production, and foster a collaborative culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage studio facilities and post-production suites, offering expert advice, booking support, and safe usage guidance
- Lead production equipment purchasing, maintenance, and inventory
- Provide induction procedures, ongoing training, support, and risk management for studio and production equipment use
- Oversee media management strategy, including ingest, storage, server maintenance, archival, and communication with IT partners and vendors
Who we are looking for
You will be a leader who excels in studio service design, media asset management, and networking with internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking an individual who will contribute to the leadership team and manage the studio and postproduction resources and staff. You should have a proven track record in delivering high-quality production and ensuring client satisfaction.
You will also have:
- A relevant degree with subsequent experience, or extensive experience and specialist expertise or an equivalent combination of experience and education or training particularly in the area of video and media production
- Demonstrated experience in managing studios, post-production suites and technical staff employed to maintain these facilities
- Experience in supervising staff to manage critical and competing priorities within a highly dynamic and organisational change context
- Experience working with, and current knowledge of emerging industry level practices in the field of video and media production and interest in immersive media (AR/VR/Virtual Production)

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
