The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University.  The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement.  Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

The Student Support Officer (Success & Intervention) provides high level contribution to the student support function of the Faculty, through coordinating and delivering focussed support to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and underrepresented student groups throughout the student lifecycle. The role also provides expert and responsive student support services to students identified at risk under our academic progress process.

Additionally, the role collaborates with academic, professional and student support staff within the University, and with relevant external stakeholders, to enable the success and achievement of progression and conversion goals for our students.

To be successful you will need:

  • Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, including applying a well-developed understanding of the cultures to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other underrepresented student groups.
  • A demonstrated awareness of the range of higher education policies, programs and resources available to underrepresented cohorts including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • High level of experience in managing student and program administration, customer service and advisory functions, preferably in a higher education environment, including developing and implementing quality improvement and best practice customer service culture.
  • Awareness of the range of higher education policies, programs and resources that impact on, and guide processes related to the management of, students at risk of experiencing unsatisfactory academic progress.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating, both verbally and in writing, in a succinct, professional and responsive manner to deliver client centric results.
