The Student Experience Programs Coordinator provides overall operational management for the development, implementation and ongoing delivery of a suite of student experience and engagement activities and programs for students in the Business School. These include orientation, student mentoring, student representation, and clubs and societies. The role works closely with the Associate Dean (Student Life), Academic Director (Student Enrichment) and Manager, Student Life and the wider Education Services team to provide expertise and advice that contributes towards the School’s student experience priorities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • be responsible for the management, design, implementation, and evaluation of student experience and engagement activities and programs in the Business School
  • develops and manages multiple work stream plans to meet overarching project objectives
  • manage Clubs and Societies Funding Program
  • manage large and boutique student experience events. These events will include Orientation, mentoring program events, clubs and societies events, or others as required
  • design and deliver training and development opportunities for student participants in student experience programs (e.g. mentors, clubs and societies executives)
  • support the Manager, Student Life, Academic Director (Student Enrichment) and Associate Dean (Student Life) in identifying objectives and goals that will shape the student experience by undertaking best practice research in student experience and engagement
  • collaborate with students as partners, establish and maintain relationships with targeted students including managing student challenges, dealing with difficult student situations/ circumstances, and celebrating/ promoting student success.

About you

We are looking for a Student Experience Programs Coordinator who possesses:

  • demonstrated project management and multi-tasking skills
  • excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines while working consistently within busy schedules and under sustained pressure
  • excellent leadership skills and experience leading a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service
  • ability to communicate and work closely with senior academic staff to develop and implement student life initiatives
  • extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment
  • strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills
  • demonstrated experience in large-scale student experience and engagement programs, from inception to delivery and evaluation, including recruitment and development of participants
  • experience with managing a diverse group of stakeholders; including students, senior leadership, academics, industry sponsors and other external contacts
  • experience working with students from a non-English speaking background, and an understanding of the pressures and issues facing tertiary students
  • demonstrated experience in developing and implementation student life activities (desirable).
