About the Role
The global leader in genomics, Illumina, has partnered with the University of Melbourne to establish a biomedical and economic powerhouse for Australia within the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct—The Advanced Genomics Collaboration (TAGC).  TAGC will accelerate biomedical research translation and commercialization, fostering high-growth, high-tech start-ups. As the Student Engagement Project Officer (TAGC), you'll support student-related activities, facilitating authentic learning experiences through internships and research projects to enhance their employability skills and work readiness.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing operational and strategic support in relation to student identification and engagement activities within TAGC
  • Collaborating and building relationships internally and externally to promote student-focused work activities that enhance the student experience.
  • Proactively contributing to program evaluation and development to enhance services supporting student experience and work readiness.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for a student engagement professional with a proven track record in building and nurturing a wide range of stakeholder relationships. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to effectively convey specialised and intricate information to diverse audiences. You will be able to draw on your high attention to detail, organisational and planning skills to meet and manage tight deadlines whilst, identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

You will also have:

  • A degree with subsequent relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • The ability to drive innovation with an independent, proactive mindset. 
  • High level of proficiency in standard application software such as Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyse and interpret data.
