  • Commencement Salary: $65,766 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

The Student Engagement Unit (SEU) is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of student-facing services that will enhance the on-campus and off-campus student experience for all students. The SEU also takes strategic steps to inform the quality of the student experience of learning and teaching, support services, the learning environment, and student facilities.

SEU services include Orientation, UniSA Sport, Career Services, Student Life, Student Wellbeing, Student Counselling, International Student Support, Learning Advice, Wirringka Student Services, and Access and Inclusion Services.

Career Services offers services, resources and learning-based programs that support UniSA students to integrate their academic and career interests, and proactively design their career pathway. The team also established relationships with employers to facilitate connections to students.

About the Role

The Student Employment Officer provides project and administrative support for a range of Career Services initiatives all aimed at supporting our students to achieve their career goals. This includes providing support to students through the Career Services Drop-In service and responding to student career related enquiries. The role also supports the Career Service to increase student engagement in paid employment within the University through our ‘Jobs on Campus’ initiative. In addition, the position engages with employers to increase the number of jobs being promoted to UniSA students/graduates, offering value-added services where applicable.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide project and administrative support to the Manager: Career Services and the Coordinator: Career Services
  • Maintain efficient office systems and processes for Career Services
  • Facilitate the delivery of quality services to staff, students and employers
  • Provide support to students through the Career Services Drop-In service, including advice and support to students and employers
  • Manage the Career Services telephone and email account and respond to enquiries as required
  • Assisting external organisations in advertising and promoting their vacancies through the Career Services promotional avenues and online platforms

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
  • Highly developed organisational and office administration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve objectives in a timely manner and to plan, coordinate and carry out project tasks through to completion
  • Diploma level qualification in administration or a related field plus relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Demonstrated experience in agency/internal recruitment (Desirable)
