·       fantastic 6 month casual opportunity for 30 x University of Sydney Students only to work at the University Student Centre

·       shifts will be available between 7am – 7pm Monday to Friday

·       2 weeks full time paid training in person at Camperdown campus

·       Student Centre staff are required to work onsite

·       HEO3 Step 1 - $44.35 per hour

 

About the opportunity

The Student Centre team support all enquiries to the University of Sydney via a face-to-face counter service, phones, and online customer service channels. They provide customer service, information, advice and referral about a broad range of matters relating to a student’s time at university. This includes course options and admissions, student cards, fees, enrolment, timetables, examinations, special consideration, study abroad and exchange, and graduation.

 

This is a casual opportunity with a 6-month contract term and potential to extend based on business requirements.

 

This role will require you to: 

 

·       manage online enquires, admission enquiries and administrative support to the work area

·       provide accurate and consistent information within established service and performance parameters to students, internal and external stakeholders who contact the Student Centre

·       respond to and resolve enquiries in an informative, accurate and timely manner; ensuring key details are recorded in an enquiry management system for each interaction

·       triage enquiries accurately and in accordance with established business practice guidelines to include the effective assessment, diagnosis, prioritisation and internal escalation of more complex cases to a senior staff person for appropriate referral of issues to higher level support and advice

·       exercise a degree of initiative, sensitivity, and sound judgement in compliance with the University’s privacy policy, legislative obligations, and operating guidelines to resolve problems and manage complaints.

 

About you:

 

·       you are a current University of Sydney student

·       demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service and the ability to add-value in responding to online enquiries within a compliance driven and service-centric work environment

·       excellent high-level communication skills - including verbal and written, and can make the complex simple in your daily interactions

·       strong and well developed organisational, time management and prioritisation skills to manage service priorities

·       experience in working in a high volume, fast paced, customer centric environment

·       fast learning and willing to take on new challenges in an agile work environment

·       strong computer skills and literacy, including Microsoft Office

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position
