About the opportunity

We are in a period of exciting development and transformation within our Domestic Recruitment and Access team, part of Sydney Future Students, as we aim to maximise our school engagement activities across both widening participation and recruitment functions. We are seeking a solutions-focused Student Ambassador Coordinator to support and contribute to the success of this new team. Student Ambassadors are responsible for promoting the University across a range of recruitment activities, providing information about the University's degree offerings and student experience to prospective students, parents, and career advisers.

Utilising your service-oriented approach, you will oversee the management of the student casual program creating an exceptional casual team. You will administer the development and implementation of recruitment and training programs for all casual students, identifying opportunities for expansion and delivery. Additionally, you will oversee all associated administrative and information processes for the effective delivery in support of outreach and recruitment projects.

  • enhanced prioritisation and coordination skills across multiple, varied administrative tasks within a complex organisation
  • excellent presentation skills and experience developing training and development programs
  • experience of coordinating, leading, and motivating a large casual workforce
  • exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders including school students, teachers, parents, University students and staff
  • an inclusive leadership style that encourages and motivates high performance and the ability to have tactful performance conversations with direct reports as required
  • confidence in leading and developing the delivery of training and workshops to a diverse audience.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
