About You
The STEM Outreach Coordinator will promote STEM to secondary school students, in line with University procedures and the College’s strategic vision.

A major focus of the role will be to oversee and implement all activities relating to the In2science program in consultation with partner universities and the Victorian Department of Education and Training. The role will also maintain records and reports on the performance of the In2science program, reporting on outcomes to external stakeholders including secondary stakeholders and sponsors.

This role will also be responsible for liaison and coordination of a range of events on campus and at secondary schools, facilitating RMIT student-led demonstrations and workshops.

The STEM Outreach Coordinator will undertake other College engagement activities as directed by the Planning and Operations Manager.

This role may occasionally be required to work non-standard hours and leave restrictions may apply during peak periods.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated communication, relationship building and negotiation skills with the ability to work collegiately with academic and professional staff, students, and external clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.   

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a demanding high-volume environment with excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

  • Demonstrated project management experience to ensure the achievement of project goals, participation targets and semester objectives.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate students towards the achievement of educational, personal and community engagement objectives, and communicate with students regarding effective learning.

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in the field of STEM education.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer software packages with accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to learn new technical skills.
