The Administrator is part of the Specialist Administrative Support (SAS) unit and is responsible for providing a high level of administrative support in coordinating and organising complex administrative duties for the unit. The Specialist Administrative Support (SAS) Team is responsible for the effective and streamlined delivery of vital operations across the Business School.


Accountabilities:

  • Provision of consistent and high-quality administrative support to the SAS Manager, including advice on University and Faculty policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all administrative processes and tasks are compliant with UNSW Enterprise Agreement and University guidelines whilst contributing to the development and implementation of Facultywide policy, procedures, systems, and alert on significant issues.
  • Coordinate with Schools and relevant central teams on term planning, timetabling, clash free course combinations, myExperience survey set up, room allocations and other Faculty-wide specialist administrative tasks.
  • Deliver accurate and timely execution of tasks related to sessional academic administration processes from contracting to payment.
  • Coordinate the timely, accurate and consistent maintenance of CTP (Casual Teacher Payment) entries and reports, ensuring compliance across the Faculty and aligned with approved plans.
  • Under the direction of the SAS Manager and Administration Officer, support the design and implementation of any new administrative processes or system improvement initiatives.

Skills and Experience:

To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Advanced time management in a high-volume environment, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet multiple deadlines at the same time.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply, interpret and advise on policies, procedures or systems, across varying tasks with high levels of compliance required.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in an administrative environment, with an ability to investigate operational issues and suggest improvements to procedures for increased efficiency.
  • Experience with term planning, timetabling, and contracting for casual Academic staff will be preferred.
