About the Role
Get ready to make a real impact as a Special Consideration Assistant! Your role is pivotal in assessing and processing applications for Special Consideration, ensuring strict adherence to established policy guidelines. But that's not all – you'll also dive into basic inquiry management and build strong connections with university colleagues involved in the special consideration process. Whether you're processing data or interacting with students and staff via teleconference, email, or phone, teamwork, outstanding customer service, professionalism, and accountable decision-making are all part of the game.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing eligibility for special consideration applications per the Coordinator's parameters and process through the university system.
  • Providing students with relevant academic outcomes as determined and delegated by the relevant school/faculty.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete case notes and records using university administrative systems.
  • Managing information in accordance with Privacy legislation and University policy and processes.

  • Require relevant post-secondary qualification or equivalent admin experience/training.

Your new team – Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation.  This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.​ 

The Student Equity and Disability Services (SEDS) is in the Wellbeing Services portfolio, which includes the University’s Health Service, Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS), and the Chaplaincy service. SEDS is responsible for providing educational adjustments for students with a disability or health condition, are carers of a person with a disability, are defence reservists or emergency volunteers or for cultural or religious observance which impact their ability to participate fully in their studies. SEDS also under the authority of the Academic Registrar and processes eligibility for Special consideration applications on behalf of Academic Divisions.
