  • Commencement Salary: $92,941 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

The Software Engineer will provide specialised technical expertise in the design and development of analytics interoperability software related to the Future Energy Exports Cooperative Research Centre (FEnEx CRC) research project conducted jointly by UniSA, QUT, Asset Institute, MIMOSA, Queensland Government, titled ‘Open Specification for Analytics Interoperability’.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement new, highly specialised and complex analytics interoperability software applications for the research project
  • Manage the monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing software applications, operational systems and infrastructure required for the successful delivery of the research project
  • Use cutting edge software-testing methodologies to evaluate and verify software applications to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Using software expertise, support the research team to develop software standards and specifications for their research on the project
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for reference and project reporting, including safety and quality requirements, ensuring they are implemented and followed at all times

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Highly developed expertise in designing, developing, testing, and documenting software applications
  • Possess strong software development skills in data management, data integration, web-services, and related areas
  • Ability to quickly learn/adapt to new technologies and concepts
  • A tertiary degree in computer science or engineering or relevant discipline with significant relevant experience
  • Demonstrable experience in programming languages for front- and back-end web development (e.g., Ruby, Java, JavaScript, etc.) and web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Spring, JQuery, Bootstrap, BackboneJS, or similar (desirable)
