Overview:



  • Full-time, Continuing position  

  • Salary Academic Level / HEW 5 + 17% Superannuation 

  • Based at the Bundoora campus, and hybrid ways of working – Minimum of 3 days on campus. 


 


About The Position 
The Services Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the STEM College.  


As a member of the College Services Team, the successful candidate will work under the direction of the Senior Services Coordinator to provide an elevated level of service across processes and tasks which support the effective operation of the College and its associated Schools.  


Such services may include, but are not limited to, purchasing and supplies, event organisation and support, asset/space management. The successful candidate will be expected to work in a highly collaborative manner both with RMIT and external stakeholders.   


The position will be accountable for implementation of systems and protocols that are consistent with the University’s protocols, policies, and procedures.  The incumbent will contribute to high quality service provision, strong skills in multitasking as well as cultural and work practice changes that support the College’s strategic directions 


 


To be successful in this position, you will have: 


  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of quality customer service and general support administration. 

  • Demonstrated sound knowledge and consistent application of relevant University policy and procedures and the ability to provide advice in a customer service environment 

  • Sound administrative and organisational skills with the ability to work effectively, flexibly, and efficiently as a member of a team, contributing to the achievement of team goals.  

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people from a range of cultural backgrounds. 

  • Well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take the initiative in identifying and proposing opportunities to improve existing practices and services.  

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding frontline customer facing environment.   

  • Demonstrated keyboard skills and expertise in MS Word, MS Excel, and email

Relevant digital solutions – such as Workday – are used by the five teams to streamline processes and drive operational efficiencies. The Group’s end-to-end professional support ensures a consistent approach to the operational and strategic functioning of the College and adherence to University policies and procedures. 


 


The STEM College Office professional staff are instrumental in providing students with a transformative and enriched learning experience, and in supporting our research and engagement administration activities. Centralised in the STEM College Office, at our City and Bundoora campuses, professional staff members have opportunities to cross-skill, engage in professional development and develop their own career paths.
