About the team  

Campus Management is responsible for planning, developing and managing the University’s campus and property portfolio to support teaching, research and campus life. Campus Management delivers a comprehensive range of University-wider services. The Sustainability team within the Campus Planning division is responsible for environmental sustainability within campus operations and manages the utilities consumption and reporting.

About the opportunity  

In this position, you will under broad direction progress the initiatives of the Environmental Sustainability Strategy to meet the University’s carbon neutral targets. You will contribute to the development of policies and plans which will impact the sustainable operations of the campus informed by your knowledge and expertise within the sustainability field.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Relevant experience at an appropriate level in the planning and implementation of sustainability related projects, such as within the areas of energy, water, waste, biodiversity and transport.
  • Relevant experience at an appropriate level in environmental reporting requirements including familiarity with National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act and National Pollution Inventory
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team
