About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader: Campus Central City West, the Senior Student Service Advisor plays a pivotal role within the Campus Central team by offering guidance and support to both the City West Team Leader and team members in delivering outstanding customer service to students. This key position not only ensures the efficient management of the service area but also spearheads the coordination of resources across the service area.

The Senior Student Service Adviser is tasked with the development and implementation of training programs designed to enhance the skills and capabilities of both the local and wider Campus Central teams. Through continuous learning and improvement, this role significantly contributes to the team's ability to meet and exceed the service expectations of our students.

The Student and Academic Services (SAS) unit provides senior leadership in student and academic administration in a distributed service environment. It is responsible for the development and maintenance of policy, information systems and procedural frameworks. The Unit coordinates and provides quality assurance for a number of University functions including student admissions, enrolments, examinations, graduations, student finance and scholarships. 

Within SAS, Campus Central is a frontline service area provided on all campuses of the University. It is a team-based, continuous improvement environment, which provides a broad range of student and academic services to students and university staff.
Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and knowledge at an appropriate level and a demonstrated commitment to the further development and enhancement of knowledge and skills through active membership of relevant professional associations and other means
  • Demonstrated achievement in the provision of high quality, responsive customer service that involves strong interpersonal, conflict management and problem solving skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills, including the ability to be innovative and creative in providing advice and generating solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and interpret policies and procedures
  • Highly developed communication skills appropriate to developing and adapting verbal and written presentations and materials to a range of needs and audiences
