The Opportunity

oNKo-innate Pty Ltd, is a discovery-stage biotechnology company dedicated to target identification and pre-clinical immuno-oncology drug development. At oNKo-innate we believe that the next major advances in cancer immunotherapy will result from strategies that recruit, integrate and activate a more diverse immune response. With our leading understanding of Natural Killer “NK” cells as a key coordinator of efficient anti-tumor immunity, we are identifying and developing the next generation of immunotherapies.

In the role of Senior Research Officer you will oversee and deliver high-quality research activities to support the operations of the functional genomics & protein engineering teams within oNKo-innate. The functional genomics team run discovery projects focused on identifying and validating novel IO targets by utilising large-scale CRISPR screening and by developing cutting-edge in vivo models to interrogate gene function across immune cell populations. The protein engineering team develop innovative biologics to directly reprogram tumour immune cell microenvironment.

Reporting to the CEO, oNKo-innate, you will be a skilled in vivo scientist and tumour biology expert with a degree qualification in the field; will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to work across different teams and juggle competing demands.

You will have extensive experience overseeing and undertaking in vitro and in vivo experiments including setting up various tumour models, extensively characterising the tumour microenvironment by high-dimensional flow cytometry and performing functional assays with primary immune cells. Experience in molecular biology, including genomic DNA and RNA extractions, cloning, transfection/nucleofection, and CRISPR-based editing would be advantageous.

This role is a full-time position, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
